GPS tracker
As we all know, GPS satellite positioning is to connect multiple sky positioning satellite signals (only connection, no communication), and then obtain a latitude and longitude data through the internal algorithm of the GPS chip, and then upload the relevant position information to the positioning platform through the mobile phone communication system. The server finally displays the latitude and longitude position to the user through a web page or an app in the form of a map.The power consumption of the GPS positioning chip for stable positioning is about 50-60 mA.
The principle and positioning process are the same, but there is a small difference between the vehicle locator and the personal SOS locator. In addition to having a built-in small battery to power the host, the vehicle locator also has A tail, this tail will be connected to the battery of the car, just start the car, it will be continuously supplied with electricity. Precisely because the car tracker can be connected to the car's battery usage, we don't have to worry about standby time. Therefore, the interval for uploading the GPS position is mostly 15 seconds, and the GPS signal that does not sleep brings more accurate positioning.
If there is no power supplied by the car battery, the built-in battery of the car GPS tracker can only locate for less than 2 hours.
Carrying a personal locator around doesn't have this tail, so the built-in battery is the only power supply for it.
The power of the battery is proportional to its volume, the large battery has more power, and the small battery has less power.
So in order to get longer standby time, the factory default interval of personal tracker is 10 minutes. You might ask why not make the battery capacity a bit bigger. So far, with the technology of the battery industry, the battery capacity is proportional to the battery size. Therefore, the larger the capacity, the larger the battery volume, which is uncomfortable for people to carry.
Each GPS fix consumes a lot of power. Therefore, reducing the number of GPS positioning is the main method to save power.
Most of the personal tracker’s battery has a standby time of 2 days or more under the factory default setting, so the personal tracker’s app provides more settings for guardians, such as adjusting the positioning interval through the app in an emergency, or Single query location information, etc.; these settings truly achieve the concept of on-demand positioning.
Now many new locators have clever circuit and appearance design, which can greatly enhance the standby time while satisfying comfortable wearing, and can basically work for a week on a single charge.
